The Natural Science category of the NEO Science Olympiad is designed to assess participants’ understanding of fundamental scientific principles and concepts across a range of disciplines, including physics, chemistry, biology and earth sciences. The questions and challenges in this category require participants to think critically and analytically. They must apply scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills to address complex scientific problems.

Additionally, this category provides excellent preparation for higher education in science-related fields. It helps students build a strong foundation in scientific principles and problem-solving skills, which are valuable for university-level science programs.

The category aims to develop scientific curiosity, strengthen students’ understanding of the natural world and build problem-solving skills that can support further education in science-related fields. It also encourages students to recognize the role of science in understanding and addressing real-world challenges.

The questions will be the same for all grades within each group listed below. However, evaluations will be conducted separately for each grade, and the results will be announced accordingly.
• Grades 3-4
• Grades 5-6
• Grades 7-8

The Qualification Exam in the Natural Science category is offered on two designated exam dates. Participants may take the exam on either or both dates, with each attempt conducted independently. The Qualification Exam determines participants’ eligibility for the Grand Finals in Orlando and New York, USA.

Students who achieve at least 40 points in the Qualification Round advance to the Grand Final in Orlando and New York, USA.

The top 3 students in grades 3 to 8 will qualify for exclusive discounts on participation in the Grand Final Program in Orlando and New York, USA, provided they meet all other participation requirements.
