EVALUATION OF THE QUALIFICATION ROUND EXAMS

The top 3 students in each grade and category will receive a physical Gold Medal (Gold 1, Gold 2 or Gold 3), a Certificate of Achievement delivered by post and Grand Final discount awards.

• Students scoring 90-100 points: Digital Gold Medal Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
• Students scoring 75-89.99 points: Digital Silver Medal Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
• Students scoring 55-74.99 points: Digital Bronze Medal Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
• Students scoring 25-54.99 points: Digital Honorable Mention Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
• Students scoring 0-24.99 points: Digital Participation Certificate

GRAND FINAL DISCOUNT AWARDS & TERMS OF USE

Students who qualify through any NEO Science Olympiad Online Examination are eligible to participate in the next two consecutive Grand Finals, subject to the applicable participation requirements and available places. This policy is designed to provide students and their families with greater flexibility in planning their participation, particularly in managing US visa application procedures and processing times.

1. Discount Award Structure

Students who rank among the top 3 in their grade and eligible category in a NEO Science Olympiad Online Qualification Exam may receive a discount on the Grand Final participation fee as follows: 

• 1st places: 75% discount
• 2nd places: 50% discount
• 3rd places: 25% discount

2. Validity and Use of Discount Awards

• Discount awards must be used for the next upcoming Grand Final following the Online Qualification Exam in which they were earned. They cannot be carried forward to subsequent Grand Finals or future years.
• Students who qualify for discounts in multiple categories are eligible for only one discount. The highest discount earned will apply.
• Discounts are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
• Discounts apply only to the Grand Final participation fee and do not cover optional trips or additional programs.

3. Application Deadline

• Students who have earned a discount and wish to attend the Grand Final must apply within 15 days of the announcement of the exam results.
• Late applications may be accepted only if places are available.

4. Registration and Payment

• Discount awards are not automatically applied during registration. Students must notify the organizers by email during the registration process that they have earned a discount.
• If a student registers and pays the deposit or remaining balance before the discount is applied, the applicable discount amount will be refunded.
• Discounts are calculated based on the Early Bird price, where an Early Bird rate is available.

5. Group Participation and Accompanying Adults

• A student who has earned a discount cannot attend the Grand Final alone. The student must either be part of a group of at least 8 students or attend with an accompanying adult.
• The discount applies only to the award-winning student, not to other group members or the accompanying adult.
• Students in Grade 3 who have earned a discount must attend with an accompanying adult, even if they are part of a group of at least 8 students accompanied by a group leader or teacher.

6. Accommodation Requirements

• The student who has earned a discount and their accompanying adult must share a room.
• Separate rooms may be arranged subject to availability and an additional fee. 
  

7. General Conditions

• All discount awards are subject to the applicable Grand Final participation requirements.
• Students must comply with all registration, payment, accommodation and participation conditions established by the MTO.
• The MTO reserves the right to verify eligibility before confirming a discount award.
