Mathematics is a fundamental field of study that plays a crucial role in various aspects of our lives and the world at large. In other words, mathematics is not only a subject taught in schools but also a fundamental tool that underpins many aspects of our society. Its importance extends beyond academia and is deeply intertwined with our daily lives, scientific progress, technological advancements, and problem-solving endeavors.

The philosophy behind the mathematics questions in the NEO Science Olympiad focuses on testing participants' problem-solving abilities, mathematical reasoning, and their application of mathematical concepts in various real-world scenarios. These questions aim to challenge students to think critically, creatively, and analytically while solving mathematical problems. Additionally, they encourage participants to develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and their practical implications, promoting mathematical literacy and skills that can be applied across different disciplines and in everyday life.

There are a total of 25 multiple-choice questions in the Mathematics category. With its strong connection to Harvard University, LabXchange is a free, open-access study platform for students registered in the online exams of the Neo Science Olympiad in the Mathematics Category. Students can also use other printed or online resources to study for the exams.

The Mathematics category is open to all students in grades 3 through 11.

The questions will be the same for all grades within each group listed below. However, evaluations will be conducted separately for each grade, and the results will be announced accordingly.

I Group: Grades 3-4-5
II Group: Grades 5-7-8
III Group: Grades 9-10-11
