EXAM CONDITIONS

GENERAL CONDITIONS FOR EXAMS & CATEGORIES

1. Exam Structure and Qualification
• The NEO Science Olympiad online exams consist of a single round called the Qualification Exam for the US Grand Finals.
• Successful participants qualify for the Grand Finals, held annually in Orlando in January and New York in June or July.

2. Payment Details
• A payment of $20 is required for each exam category selected in the Qualification Exam.
• Payments are final and non-refundable once completed.
• Students unable to take the exam due to unforeseen circumstances will not be offered make-up exams or refunds.

3. Exam Scheduling
• The Qualification Exam is scheduled at different times for different categories to accommodate all participants and maintain the integrity of the examination.
• Exam dates and times must be reviewed carefully before selecting an exam category and making payment.

4. Exam Access and Language
• All exams are conducted through the Student Panel. No separate exam links will be sent by email.
• The exam language is English.

5. Eligibility and Grade Levels
Students may register for multiple exam categories listed below, according to their grade level:
-> Mathematics: Grades 3-11
-> Natural Science: Grades 3-8
-> Physics: Grades 9-11
-> Chemistry: Grades 9-11
-> Biology: Grades 9-11

6. Registration and Age Policy
• There are no age restrictions. Students must register based on their current grade, regardless of the year they started school.

7. Exam Monitoring and Integrity
• Exams are monitored through a camera system used as part of the examination process.
• Students must use a device with an active and functioning camera throughout the exam.
• All exam activity will be recorded. Any detected cheating will result in disqualification and cancellation of the exam results.
• If a student fails to keep the camera on during the exam and ranks among the top 10, the position will be transferred to the next eligible student. 

EXAM RESULTS AND EVALUATION

• The top 3 students in each grade will receive a physical Gold Medal (Gold 1, Gold 2 or Gold 3) and a Certificate of Achievement delivered by post.
• Students scoring 90-100 points: Digital Gold Medal Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
• Students scoring 75-89.99 points: Digital Silver Medal Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
• Students scoring 55-74.99 points: Digital Bronze Medal Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
• Students scoring 25-54.99 points: Digital Honorable Mention Certificate & Certificate of Achievement
• Students scoring 0-24.99 points: Digital Participation Certificate
• Students who achieve at least 40 points will qualify to participate in the Grand Final.
